May’s new arm candy: which one should it be?
“May-Britt, seriously, you really can’t be seen with that bag anymore.” My dear girlfriend from the Dutch Vogue could easily pass as gay because when it comes to fashion she is always so brutally honest. “Well, the bag is fine, but practically every photo you’ve been in lately, you’ve been carrying around that bag.”
I could have easily brought up the whole discussion about the anti disposable society or Livia Firth’s documentary about discouraging the current generations buying behavior, but when push comes to shove in the world of bags, I am an irresistible victim.
Apparently incredibly irresistible because I’m quite capable and willing to buy a new bag, I just don’t know which one yet. The Boy-bag is amazing, but doesn’t necessarily scream my name. Alexander Wang’s bags I find to be a bit too heavy. Hèrmes is great, but has a bit of a country look and feel and it’s also a bit on the heavier side and let’s be honest: in today’s day and age I find it somewhat unethical to pay their hefty price tags.
Here are a couple of options I am open for and I’m hoping you will all help a girl out. A bit of team work never harmed anybody.
1. Gucci Dionysus Supreme GG Embroidered Bag
Pro: The current it-bag. Every one wants it and every magazine is photographing it.
Con: I don’t know whether I’ll still like it seventeen years from now.
2. LV Twist Denim
Pro: I love everything from Vuitton. This bag is classy and chic and very ‘now’ due to the materials it’s made out of.
Con: It’s rather small… But hey, all I need are my keys, cell phone and credit card right?
3. Chanel Flap Bag in Blue
Pro: It’s blue which is definitely something new in my wardrobe. It’s Chanel. I love the leather pattern. It’s Chanel. And oh, it’s Chanel.
Con: I already own quite a few Chanel bags. But technically that shouldn’t matter…
4. Classic Monogram Saint Laurent Chain Bag
Pro: Gorgeous. A bit of now and a dash of the richness of the brands past.
Con: The chain is a bit short.
