WHY I LIKE WEDDINGS
As I’m in no hurry to tie the knot myself, people always find it odd that I adore other people’s weddings. It causes a short-circuit in their brains but it to me it seems totally logical. A wedding is a party and I can’t wait for my friends to reach that stage so my weekends will be filled with white dresses and golden rings. I defend my case by presenting to you the following arguments:
The dress
Because, that’s what it’s all about, What The Bride is Wearing. I find most wedding gowns quite hideous (often the strapless ones) because they’re too big and not particularly fashionable, but still, I repeat: but still. Somewhere inside me there’s a little girl that dreams about life as a princess and looking at those dresses feeds those dreams a little.
The clothes
By that I mean the clothes of the guests. Events where everyone has done their best to wear the perfect outfit, how delightful; handsome men is suits, women in dresses and heels. Love it.
The location
Usually wedding ceremonies are conducted in castles, pretty parks, special chapels, large backyards or other sunny locations. You must know I happen to love castles, pretty parks, special chapels, large backyards and sunny locations.
The people
It’s a collection of family, friends, close acquaintances and distant ones; in any case you meet people you don’t run into in every day life. It’s kind of reunion but then in pretty clothes at a nice location.
The tears
Yes, the tears. You can rent me for weddings and funerals, I’ll cry every single time. You might not expect this from me but I’m a softy when it comes to other people’s emotions it always brings me to tears. Delightfully relieving.
