YOUR SKIN THE SUN

– you NEED to see this! –

As soon as the sun comes out the masses take to the outside terraces to catch the sunlight. At home we think (yes, plural, I’m not the only one there): I’d better apply some suntan lotion. We courtly do this but forget to repeat the process after having emptied a few glasses.

After watching the film below I promise you, you will apply suntan lotion every two hours and between 12 and 3 pm you will retreat under an umbrella still applying lotion accordingly. Sun rays are dangerous; they don’t only add 10 years to your age and weaken the skin, no, UV-radiation penetrates deep into the skin, giving you a nice color, but it can also lead to skin cancer. You can’t tell from the outside or right away, but after a few years your start thinking Ouch! In capital letters. National Skin cancer day gives it the extra attention it deserves. And we pass it on to you.

This is a film by Thomas Leveritt. La Roche-Posay sent him off with his camera to see the skin damage that is caused by the sun, shocking. I find it very confronting, I warn you these are not pretty pictures. But they do wake you up, don’t they?
