These 5 apps make you picture perfect on Instagram

Our Instagram obsession here at the office is uncanny and I can tell you that some of our editors (I won’t name any names but it’s not me) have folders on their computers filled with ‘potential Instagram material.’ And before one of those potential photos gets posted on the gram, a few apps are used here and there for a bit of tweaking. Now I know you’re probably curious to know which apps they are after having gained a few extra kilo’s during holiday season and lack of sleep. Hereby 5 that’ll transform your photos without being overly photoshopped.

1. Facetune

If you’re having an off day, aka: a face full of spots and crazy bags under your eyes, then Facetune will be your new best friend. It’s pretty much an alternative for Photoshop, cause you can even turn a simple grey hair into a different color and have a flawless complexion. The smooth function is by far the best tool in the app, although you might want to be careful that you don’t turn yourself into a real life Barbie doll.

2. Pixtr

Probably the easiest make up there is. You upload a photo of yourself and then the app automatically transforms it. No more red eyes, no more uneven skin tones – everything gets fixed for you.

3. VSCO Cam

Every die hard Instagrammer is bound to have this installed on their iPhone. The filters aren’t too vigorous, but just by small changes here and their with their different functions and your photo transforms into a beaut.

4. Faded

For those of you who know Afterlight probably know Faded. You can’t make huge changes to your complexion, but it helps with the overall photo. You can change a photo’s temperature, make things lighter and change the contrast of the photo. Great for some fine tuning.

5. Photo Makeover

Probably the funniest app of the bunch because you can even turn your most crabby photo into one with a smile, and if your eyes are closed, this app’ll open them for you. Kinda odd, but funny at the same time. You can even make your eyes look bigger, your nose smaller… Customizing your own face has never been so easy.
