When it comes to this item of clothing, it’s all about the right way of combining it. There is a fine line between trashy and frumpy so pay close attention, because this is the right way you’re going to want to pull it off.

1. ditch the pumps

I repeat: ditch the pumps. This dress needs to be worn with a bit of edge. If it were up to me, I’d always opt for cool cowboy boots underneath.

If you’re not too keen on cowboy boots, then you could go for a simple slipper or sandal or shoes that wrap around your ankle. So just incase you forgot: no pumps.

2. Boyfriend on top

Since the dress alone is ultra sexy, more than just your shoes needs to be edgy. I think boyfriend coats are the perfect accessory. Nice and oversized, wrap it around your shoulders. You’ll be completely festival proof for the summer.

3. if you can’t wait until the summer

Then you can combine the dress with a tight pair of leather leggings. Add your cowboy boots and you’re good to go. Leather jackets work well too, but never (ever) in combination with the leather leggings. The Village People were cool in the eighties.

4. bye romance

To transform this dress into a fashionable look, steer clear of the romantic vibe. Wear a big, rough, slouchy vest on top, put your hair up in a messy bun, add a bold necklace and make sure your earrings aren’t too delicate.

5. throw our your prints

This dress is the new bohemian dress but without all the prints. You might want to consider dyeing last years’ ibiza tunic. Give it a unicolor and it’ll be perfect for the spring.
