With all the love and respect in the world for Marilyn Monroe and Yves Saint Laurent (okay okay, a little more respect for Yves than for Marilyn), I can’t help but be somewhat bored of their otherwise brilliant quotes. ‘Fashion fades but style is eternal’, ‘Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world’… Once upon a time these quotes were so on point, but after having seen them 117 times (and used), they have become very outdated. Thank god for Iris Apfel who has treated us to fashion quotes that have not yet been worn out and are still very appropriate to seal someones mouth shut.

1. If your hair is done properly and you’re wearing the right shoes, you can get away with anything.

2. There’s no how-to roadmap in style. It’s about self-expression and, above all, attitude.
