6 THINGS THAT MAKE YOU REALIZE REAL LIFE HAS STARTED AGAIN
Even when you can disregard the official school holidays, those summer months still give you a sense of infinite tranquility with an inbox that seems to overflow a lot less than usual and a phone that rings a lot less too. But that period, dear friends, is over. And here is why:
1. The alarm clock
I was able to ignore this for an entire summer. Waking up from sunlight peeping through the blinds is always (always) a better way to start the day.
2. Traffic
Oh, it’s back. Getting to work today took almost twice as long. I feel like walking would have been quicker.
3. Administration
And then I don’t mean all the homework I have to do for my accountant (which I ignore regardless of whether it’s summer or winter) but school administration. Sports days, birthdays that need to be celebrated at school, keeping up to date with the school’s web pages (nobody told me that school would be starting fifteen minutes earlier); everything, everything, everything. It’s almost an entirely other job on the side, having a family.
4. Not drinking the entire day
On a regular summer day you usually pour your first glass of wine around an hour or four, but now the alcohol free days have presented themselves to you. Because you have to wake up early the next day. Way too responsible. #boring.
5. Countdowns
Until your next holiday. Seriously.
6. Michael Bublé on Spotify
That’s exactly what we’ve started doing. I’m ready for Christmas. Hello Michael Bublé Xmas album.
