6 WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR SLEEPING HABITS

Ever since we kicked off the new year (and I decided to take part in a ‘dry January’), my sleeping pattern hasn’t been as good as it was before. Usually a glass of wine helps me doze off in the evenings, but since I’ve decided to keep all my bottles closed this month, here are some tips, according to scientists, that’ll help you fall asleep at night.

1. shower

Sounds good in my book. Taking a hot shower helps you relax and then it’s only a few mere steps to your warm, comfortable bed.

2. Meditate

You might catch your SO giggling, but ignore him or her. Just sit Indian style on your end of the bed, think about everything that happened to you that day, blow out all the annoying little things and think about how well you’re going to sleep that night.

3. write it down

Keep a notebook beside your bed and jot down everything that bothers you in it. Or the things you still need to do. Those are the things that usually keep you awake at night. Writing everything down will help you relax more when you’re trying to go to sleep.

4. Drink water

Alright, alright, alright. This one’s easy.

5. exercise

You don’t have to get your heart racing at an uncontrollable pace but some yoga always helps.

6. Smart snacking

Hungry before heading to bed? It’s okay to eat something, just make sure what you’re eating is healthy. Apparently kiwi’s help in the sleeping department.
