Your kitchen cabinets as your personal beauty salon
7 surprising products that are great for your skin
Running out of products in the bathroom. It’s one of those annoying things that happens, usually when you have absolutely no time to head out and stock up on everything you need. We know all too well that going to bed with make up on is a no go, and you need more than just a bit of water to wipe your face clean. Oh, and did you ever wonder what the trick is to shiny hair when you hardly have any shampoo left? Surprise, surprise. All you need can be found in in your home. And by home, I mean in your kitchen. That’s right. Instead of running out the door to your nearest beauty shop, all you have to do is open your very own kitchen cabinets. Here’s why:
1. Honey
What for? To avoid dry skin.
Why? Honey is very nutritious, so using it as a cream will help moisturize your skin and it gets rid of dead skin cells.
How? Almost out of your facial cream? Just add a small drop of honey and smear it on.
2. Greek yoghurt
What for? To open up your pores.
Why? The lactic acid in Greek yoghurt works miracles. The fatty texture will hydrate your skin and clean out your pores.
How? Use the yoghurt as a mask. Leave it on for give or take 10 minutes – just make sure to rinse it off properly afterwards.
3. Champagne
What for? Elastic skin and a fresh appearance. I know, probably the last thing you would think of.
Why? Because champagne is filled with vitamin C and E and the grapes work as an anti aging substance.
How? Well, the one way you know how. By drinking it. Although I wouldn’t recommend doing this every morning…
4. orange peels
What for? For whiter teeth.
Why? The acidity of the orange peel will work as a scrub on your teeth.
How? By taking an orange peel and rubbing it on your teeth. Make sure you rinse your mouth after because if you leave it on for too long then the acids can also damage your teeth and that’s the exact opposite of what you want.
5. Baking powder
What for? Apparently baking powder makes your hair shine.
Why? Baking powder consists of particles that gets rid of the dimness in your hair.
How? Just add a tiny bit of it to your shampoo will be fine. Just don’t do it too often.
6. coconut oil
What for? To get rid of your make up in one swipe.
Why? Coconut oil is a soft substance and completely organic. It’s got a bit of a fatty texture which makes make up easy to remove.
How? Dab it onto a cotton pad, swipe it over your face and voilà: bye bye, face full of make up.
7. oatmeal
What for? If your skin is irritated and you want to calm it down.
Why? Oatmeal is a natural product that won’t harm your skin. It’s a soft product which relaxes your skin.
How? Mix the oatmeal with your face wash and massage it onto your face. Add a bit of water and it’ll also give your pores a deep cleanse.
