7 WAYS TO GET RID OF THAT COLD
Just my luck. I’ve got a sunny press trip right around the corner, but my body has decided to play a trick on me. I felt it coming up last night. Headache, sore throat, sweating. Great timing. A cold.
So today I’m a member of team runny nose. Because there are a lot of us at the office right now. On my right I’ve got someone who’s cold 24/7 and in front of me I’ve got someone sucking on Strepsils. As for me? I’ve wrapped myself up in a big scarf and keep switching back and forth between nose spray and sore throat tablets. Which I then was away with some ginger tea.
Obviously I want to spare you from this misery hence the reason I have seven tips for you to give your immune system a boost.
Antioxidants
This might just be the most important thing to avoid getting a cold. Antioxidants in your nutrition helps battle any form of sickness. You can find them in blueberries, cranberries and diverse spices like cinnamon and kurkuma.
Be nice to your intestines
Healthy intestines mean less bacteria. Fibers are important for a good metabolism. They keep your intestines clean and culprits out.
Relax
Make sure you feel relaxed. Think in terms of a yoga class or some mediation and you’ll be zen before you know it.

Eat plenty of unsaturated fats
Try starting off your day with an omelet and half of an avocado. Avocado’s are full of unsaturated fats which will barricade unwanted bacterias from coming in.
Stock up on egg whites
Egg whites play such an important roll in your immune system. Hence the reason you should start your day off with an omelet.
Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of fluids to keep a balances moisture balance for a good resistance. When you don’t drink enough (water), the waste of your body doesn’t get discharged.
Plenty of sleep
During the night the hormone cyotine gets created, it equips you against infections. So proper resistance starts with a good nights sleep.
And last but not least, Kiki gave me a tip that will instantly make you feel better. She puts on pink lipstick. And not just any old pink color. L’Oréal’s pink color ‘Doutzen’. Well if that won’t make you feel like a supermodel…
Thanks Kiki, as long as your makeup looks good.
