8 simple tricks to pimp your kitchen
I’m currently in the process of switching houses which means I’ve been spending an endless amount of hours scrolling through Pinterest and a bunch of other home websites. I don’t have an endless supply of money on my bank account to spend on refurbishing, but there are plenty of simple ways to switch up and style certain rooms in your house without spending all your hard earned cash. Now it just so happens that the kitchen is my favorite room in my new house, so hereby some small tricks that are going to make you spend more time in there than you already were.
– Use planks to replace your kitchen cabinets. I recently did it in my own home and the difference is tremendous. It’ll make your kitchen look bigger.
– Another thing you can consider is getting rid of all the doors on your top layer of kitchen cabinets. Go out and buy cute little pots and fill them up with all your dry goods that usually stay in their ugly packaging. It’ll look good!
– Replace your cabinet handles with different ones. Small adjustment, huge change.
– If you have a white wall somewhere, consider painting it black and create your own chalk board. They’ve got special kind of paint for that.
– Ask a handyman in your neighborhood or group of friends to hang up a railing you can use to hang up your kitchen tools.
– I am addicted to lighting you can dim. The easiest way to change the atmosphere in a room. Great for in the bathroom too when you don’t want to stand in front of a mirror with bright lights.
– Work with spice and herbal plants. All you have to do is drop by a nearby plant store and buy some small pots for your basil, coriander and chives. Make sure you keep them somewhere near sunlight and don’t forget to give them a bit of luke warm water every day. Looks good, tastes good and smells good.
– Spend a bit of money on a cute soap dispenser. Try Zara Home or a chic cosmetics store – they always have endless supplies that would look perfect in your kitchen.
– Hang up some kind of notice board where you can hang up your favorite recipes that you’ve ripped out of magazines.
