9 THINGS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ADELE
It took a while before she hit the road again to go on tour. Five year to be exact. But our patience has been rewarded and this British nightingale kicked off her world tour back at the end of February in Belfast and will be ending it in November in Mexico. So, in honor of queen Adele, here are 9 fun facts you might not have known about her.
1. Adele – just like Justin Bieber – has social media to thank for her rise to fame. A good friend of hers posted one of her demo’s on MySpace (back in the day when that was still considered hip) and not long after, she received a phone call from XL Recordings. The rest is history…
2. Adele is a chain smoker. Even though back in 2011 she underwent an operation in her throat and they highly advised her to never touch a cigarette in her life again.
3. She has a miniature dachshund called Louis Armstrong and the photogenic furry friend has already posed for Vogue and Nylon magazine. Just saying.
4. Adele sure loves a good drink and that is precisely the reason she doesn’t know the password to her own Twitter account. “I mean I’m not a drinker any more, but when Twitter first came out I was, like, drunk tweeting, and nearly put my foot in it quite a few times. So my management decided that you have to go through two people and then it has to be signed off by someone, but they’re all my tweets. No one writes my tweets. They just post them for me.”

5. This world famous singer has a serious case of performance anxiety. Right before any performance she feels nauseous because of the stress. In Amsterdam she once escaped through a fire escape and in Brussels she once puked on stage…. On a fan in the front row… Yikes.
6. There were more talented little songstresses in Adele’s class (at the BRIT School of Performing Arts & Technology); Leona Lewis and Jessie J.
7. Lady Gaga is obsessed with the singer and even Beyoncé is impressed with her voice and used Adele as a source of inspiration for her album ‘4’.
8. The singer was able to keep her son a secret for the public for 94 (!) days. He was born on October 19th 2012 and it wasn’t until January 2013 that the press was able to figure out his name because Adele was wearing a necklace with the name ‘Angelo’. Busted.
9. Adele was hammered when she wrote some of her songs. “A drunken tongue is an honest one”, is how she would describe the song writing process.
