a get together with zac posen
An exclusive lunch with Zac Posen, Demi Moore and a handful of his closest friends. Your ears would be ringing when you get the invite. It happened to our contributor for our Dutch site, Marie-Claire.
While Hollywood was getting ready for the Oscars back on Sunday February 28th, the trendy Ennis House was opened for the first time on the Thursday before for a special event. Demi Moore invited Zac’s good friends and a handful of press (including our contributor) for a luncheon in honor of his new makeup collection for M.A.C. Cosmetics. She didn’t have to think twice before RSVPing ‘yes’ to the event.
The place was huge. Zac’s love for architecture and art was visible everywhere. The beauty and almost minimalistic concrete blocked walls were typical for the 1924 house. The wood-finished ceilings and stained glass windows that gave you a view of their Japanese gardens which was a very pleasant sight to see.
After working together for roughly fifteen years, M.A.C. Cosmetics (who always did the makeup for his shows) and Zac decided it was time for them to create a collection together. Why now? Zac stated that he wasn’t ready to do it any earlier. The 35 year old New Yorker has become exponentially well-known over the past few years. The main reason for him believing that now would be the best time to create an accessible, red carpet inspired makeup line was due to him being a part of the Project Runway show jury.
“Women should use their own strength. I believe you can become anything you want to be”, he said. There is a reason he has been dressing some of the most successful and powerful A-list Hollywood stars.
He’s most proud of his orange lipstick: ‘Darling Clementine’. It’s a matte lipstick and if you want an even bolder look, you can top it off with his ‘Sheer Madness’ lipstick. And a word from the wise (aka Zac), never confuse a matte moisturizer with lip gloss.
The charming designer is very much aware of the social media era we currently live in. Hence the reason his collection can be mixed with the mattifying powder and both are completely HD-ready making everyone selfie ready throughout the entire day. Useful, no?
Demi Moore wore a long, black skirt combined with a crop top to the luncheon, which really brought out her killer abs; both items from Zac Posen, of course. Her three daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah also had their Posen couture gear on. The glasses were filled to the rim and the plates were filled with honey chicken (organic, duh, it’s still Hollywood). For dessert they had a slice of ‘grandmother’s pie’, which was filled with nuts and mascarpone. The food was divine, but then again what would you expect from someone who is also has plans to release a personal cookbook in the fall of 2017. Perhaps the best way to describe Zac is by calling him multi-talented. His dream is to create a Zac Posen universe, and by the looks of it, he’s on the right track.
