Improve Your Life

manage to always find yourself in a rush?

then it’s about time you switch up your routine

My alarm clock always goes off an hour before I have to leave the house. This gives me time to slowly wake up, get rid of any sleep residues from my microscopically tiny eyes and hop in the shower.

Yet I don’t know how I do it cause every goddamn day I am still rushed for time!

Eighty percent of the people I know is chronically rushed for time. Always ‘busy’, always ‘in a hurry’. The other twenty percent is a combination of people who have recuperated from burnouts, are yoga instructors or lifestyle bloggers that write about spirituality and happiness. I’m so jealous of that twenty percent. I also want to be part of the not-in-a-rush-everything-under-control-20-percent crowd. Don’t you? Be sure to make this your mantra, especially in the morning: Rush if you have time, so you have time when you’re rushed. Hmm, some mantras aren’t all that bad. Still not feeling it? Read on for more tips:

Plan in your Insta-moment

If you’re like me and you can’t fully function without having checked your social media and e-mails in the morning, don’t worry. Make it easier on yourself. Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier. Check whatever you want to check, and you won’t find yourself running around your house like a maniac.

Lay out your clothes the night before (I know, I know, we’re being repetitive)

But I still find myself doing this only two days a week. And on those two days, my days always start really smoothly.  Work this into your system and your life will get better. I promise.

Pack your bag

If you know in advance that you’re going to be using a different bag the next day, make sure you dump everything in the right one the night before. Easy as pie.

Start off your day being active

Our health editor swears by it. She starts her day off at the gym or she goes for a morning run. This is going to keep you in a fresh and active vibe as well as ease your morning routine.  What do you mean you have no time to work out?

Don’t.Make.Too.Many.Plans

In today’s world of ‘I have to be here, there and everywhere’, it’s hard to stay afloat in a sea of appointments and plans. But come on, we all know you’re the only one responsible for being in a rush. Don’t plan too much in one day, give yourself some time to breathe in between appointments.

Only in case of an emergency; take a cab

My colleagues mock me for taking a cab to the Amayzine HQ because I live close by. But still, taxis are (minus rush hour) the solution to almost all of your problems. Doing your makeup in the cab, eating breakfast (just check with the driver if it’s okay to eat that granola bar) and typing up half an article; anything is possible.
