Right, I think it’s about time I write something about the avocado because it’s been way too long. The avocado and I are still friends and it’s safe to say there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t eat it.
Whether it’s on a rice cracker straight from the peel or mixed through a smoothie or soup to make it nice and creamy.
Let me remind you of all the reasons why this green piece of fruit (fruit, yes) is so incredibly healthy and why it doesn’t hurt to eat an avocado on a daily basis.
- Your body needs fatty acids. You can get them from a late night pizza or you can choose to get them from an avocado. This is where the ‘good fatty acids’ come from that make you feel full, so you can never eat too many avocados. In other words, they prevent you from binge eating. And no, they won’t make you want to go on a guilt trip either.
- Avocados are rich in vitamin B, which contributes to a good mood.
- There are three kinds of fatty acids in an avocado, all of which you need in order to get and/or maintain a slender figure.
- Avocados contain a lot of fibers.
- The avocado also nurtures your heart.
- Avocados contain the substances beta sitosterol and vitamin E. Forget the first complicated name. All you need to know is that it works wonders for your hair growth. And that’s always good news, right?
- The antioxidants found in avocados have a detoxifying effect, which is great in January when you need to take it easy after all of the holiday parties.
