Happy & Healthy
been to PREOCCUPIED with yourself lately?
Stop. This is how to become the best friend ever.
Alright, alright, that ‘always busy’ story is one we know all too well by now. Summer is here, it’s time to pull all nighters, to do absurd things with your bestie and call all of your friends you’ve unintentionally neglected for a while. NOW is the perfect time to work on your friendship skills if you’ve been lacking in that department.
How are you going to do it? Listen and learn and want to make a bet that you’re going to become the best friend ever?
1. Each and every one of your friends needs encouragement. Be royal when it comes to compliments, but only say the things you really mean.
2. At the end of the day friendship is based on trust. So make yourself trustworthy. And as juicy as some of the gossip might be, keep it to yourself.
3. Listen. To. Them. And be interested in his/her problems and try not to always make it all about you (“yeah I had that too when I…”)
“Always remember to cuddle.”
4. Are you living vicariously off of memories from the past? Make new ones! Go on, head on out the door and go and do things the two of you have never done before.
5. Take the time to realize that those your surround yourself with are a fundamental piece of your happiness. So having ‘no time’ doesn’t exits. You’ve always got time for your real friends. Call each other more often than always using WhatsApp. The feeling of neglect will be less when you’re going through a busy time.
6. My bestie and I have one important rule: what’s yours, is also mine. Boyfriends included. But really, if that really expensive favorite dress of yours makes her just as happy and she’ll be really careful when she borrows it: who am I to refuse?
7. You’ve undoubtedly got a friend based on common interests. If the two of you seem to be steering apart, think of something the two of you love to do together and focus on that.
8. Always remember to cuddle. Friends like that. And physical contact only strengthens bonds. Really.
