SO APPARENTLY THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSH*T…

In my never ending battle to delay draining my iPhone battery for as long as possible, I do what every other iPhone user does and close my apps. You know what I mean, when you swipe everything up to make sure they really are ’turned off.’

Well guys, it’s all a lie, my entire life is a lie, nothing is certain anymore: apparently swiping everything up is complete BS. Someone way up on the Apple ladder accidentally leaked an e-mail in which it said that ‘open’ apps have absolutely no influence on the duration of your battery.

In the words of Janice: oh. my. god.

There are a lot of technical terms you can throw around to discuss this, but long story short; if you go from one app to another, the first app gets ‘frozen’ and doesn’t start working until you open it up again. Better yet, closing it makes drains your battery even quicker than switching from one app to another because opening up a new app uses much more battery power.

Again: oh. my. god.

Apps that use GPS, or Spotify playlists and recorders do still use battery power when you don’t swipe them, but that’s logical because you use them even when they aren’t open on your screen. But other than those: swipe all you want because IT DOESN’T MATTER. My god, what deception.
