DEALING WITH A BREAKUP WITHOUT PACKING ON THE POUNDS
by Simone Olivia
He seemed to be your prince charming, but he blind-sights you and throws you off his horse. It’s over. The phrase echoes again, IT’S OVER. You pack your bags, give him one final hug and you hop in your car. This is it, this was it.
But I thought we were going to get married?
We’ve all gone through it at least once. The heart wrenching feeling of heartache. The feeling that your entire world is over, the feeling that everyone around you is happy in love. Everyone but you.
So how do you pull through this without all too much damage because we all know that those bars of chocolate and all that B&J is only going to lift your spirits for a little while. Only to get onto your scale and see +2 kg and your favorite pair of jeans are starting to feel way too tight. That’s when all the tissues reappear. And that’s what we want to avoid. So let’s do it the healthy way.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to brag about my slices of apple with almond paste (which happens to be my favorite, sitting on my kitchen counter, spoon in the almond paste jar and with lots and lots of cinnamon) or oatmeal cookies. No way, I’ve got something a whole lot better. Something that’s going to get your mind off that jackass.
Fudge. Yes, FUDGE. So good, and oh so bad at the same time. But man oh man, do I have a great alternative for you. This Coconut Fudge is TO DIE FOR, you want it, you’re going to make it. Healthy is super satisfying. Put on your favorite hoodie and shades and sprint to your grocery store. You’ll find yourself under the covers in no time watching Netflix snacking on this comfort food…
What do you need?
Two packs of coconut butter
A small bowl of blueberries
A teaspoon of vanilla extract or scrape out the inside of a fresh vanilla bean
Two tablespoons of maple syrup / agave syrup / honey
Make sure the coconut butter is at room temperature and then put all of the ingredients into the mixer. Line the baking tray with baking paper and smear the fudge into it. Make sure the fudge isn’t higher than two centimeters. Sprinkle on some coconut flakes if you’d like and leave the fudge to rest in the fridge.
This too shall pass, this too shall pass…
Who run the world? GIRLS.
