FIT THROUGH THE HOLIDAY’S

This is what you need to stuff into your suitcase

Most women calculate an extra five kilo’s to their weight when they come back from a holiday. That way they know it won’t be as bad as the real deal. No problem, but it’s not necessary. It makes complete sense that you’re going to work out less when you’re abroad and that you’re going to want to order spaghetti or pizza every day. That’s what holiday’s are for, but there are small things you can do to make sure you aren’t bothered by the added extra’s of three weeks in Spain (for example). Here are a couple of tips and believe me, you’ll be happy you know them.

Keep swimming

Pool or sea, it doesn’t really matter. Spend fifteen minutes a day swimming laps and you’ll have a great workout. And you’ll get nice and tan in the pool.

Put on sneakers

You’ll always find a pair of sneakers in my suitcase. Running a few laps in the morning on the island or through the city to get a good whiff of the scenery.

Jump

Take a jumprope with you and do 100 jumps a day. Turn it into a challenge or do it with someone else. All it requires is a few minutes of your day and you’ll feel far more comfortable in your skin after a big meal for lunch or dinner.

Open your app

12 exercises (with photos to guide you through it) that all only require 30 seconds. Get your heart rate racing by doing these all in a row quickly after each other. Hello, a full body workout in only 7 minutes? Okay, okay, I’m not saying you’re going to have killer abs, but you’ll feel a lot better and more fit, right?

Rent a board

Learning how to properly surf on waves definitely requires booking a couple of classes to make sure you really know how to keep your balance on the board. I completely understand if this is too much of a hassle, but if you buy one of those mini bodyboards, then you can bob along in the waves. Paddling back will definitely make your muscles ache. The good kind of ache though. And don’t forget to use sunscreen, cause hanging out with your board in the water is going to give you that sun kissed looked everyone wants when they’re abroad.
