Fashion
here is a trend you never saw coming
The fanny pack is back
Of course fashion always has a way of repeating itself. Or perhaps a better way to describe it is that fashion reinvents itself. But there are some trends that I thought had been buried and would never again see the light of day. Take J. Cavaricci pants as an example (if you were born after the eighties, you’ll have no idea what I’m talking about and it’s best you keep it that way). Yes, I am old.
The fanny pack is a whole other ball game. It was never “in fashion” and was only worn by those who appreciated convertible pants and double glass frames. Remember those? The sunglasses layer that you could just snap to the front of your regular glasses to block out the sunlight?
”They were only worn by those who appreciated convertible pants and double glass frames”
Fanny packs were also worn by those who you would come across wearing their backpacks in the front, rather than on their backs. People who were completely prepared incase of theft or abduction.
Well, that exact bag has made a shocking comeback. We already spotted it for a mere few seconds at the Chanel show, but that’s when I thought it was still a part of their creative outpour. However, after a Coachella Instagram tsunami, I’m afraid to say it, but all the cool girls were wearing them. The worst part of the story is that I even started liking them and as much as I tried to avoid it, you might even catch me wearing one in about a months time. Can someone please give me a call as soon as you find my backbone? Much appreciated.
