how to get the most out of your gym session

Even when you’re not in the mood to go

I know, you’re not always in the mood to go to the gym and you don’t always have to drag yourself there. But what I do want you to know is how great you’ll feel afterwards. Especially when all it is is just an hour long workout. There are tricks to make the most of your gym session that will also help you to have fun. Doesn’t mean you have to go for at least an hour, 45 minute sessions are plenty. I’m here to tell you how.

1. Avoid the busiest hours. A lot of people get distracted by those around them and are too involved with what everyone else is doing rather than what they should be doing.

2. Go to the gym with someone you know. It’s great motivation and it’s that extra shove out the door that you need. Just make sure it’s not someone who talks more than they workout.

3. Make a playlist that pumps you up. Another way to not be distracted by those around you.

4. Make sure you eat before you go. Working out on an empty stomach is a bad way to start off and really isn’t going to help you get motivated.

5. Keep hydrated. Bring a big bottle of water. Drinking water makes you energetic too.

6. Sign up for a class instead of working out on your own. That way you can pull each other through the class rather than having to motivate yourself on your own.

7. Download a fun workout app. They usually also keep track of what you’ve done and your achievements. Great motivation.

8. Challenge yourself, it’s fun. Grab a heavier weight, pick up the pace on your treadmill or add a minute or two to your jumprope workout. Want to make a bet that it’ll work?
