Last weekend I became more hopeful in the romance department. Well, either hopeful or completely and utterly ruined, one of the two. See here’s the thing: I’m a hopeless romantic. I still believe in the fairytale of prince charming arriving on his white horse. Or in a fancy car, I’ll take either. But finding one in Amsterdam (the city I live in) is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

But anyways, back to this past weekend when Kim Kardashian celebrated her birthday. Usually we’re used to reading bizarre tweets from her hubby Kanye, but what he did for her birthday….Sob fest. For those of you who didn’t know, Kim’s father passed away back in 2003. So what did Kanye do for her birthday? Well, he took a bunch of footage of things her father had filmed and turned it into a mini movie. Haven’t seen it yet? Check it out here. How absolutely heartwarming can something be?!

But this isn’t the first time Kanye showed his affection for his wifey in a romantic way. He’s taken the term romance and taken it to great new heights. A baseball stadium, a 50-man orchestra, flying in all her family and friends, a scoreboard with the words ‘PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!’… Yup. That’s something different than hiding a ring in the dessert of your three course meal with your gal.

A wall of white roses, peonies and hydrangeas. Romantic and veeeery instagrammable.

Her second Mothers day

Yet another orchestra. And Sam Smith. Kanye had it all flown in to Brazil which is where Kim was for work. Topped off with a thousand white roses. I die.

Valentines day

When Kim once received 1000 red roses for Valentines day, I got socks. I kid you not, socks. So romantic. And no, we’re no longer together.

Kim once received a white kitty cat from Kanye as a gift. However, Kim happened to be allergic, but still. A tiny bundle of fluff. So cute!
