THINGS I LEARNED AFTER MOVING IN WITH MY BOY
I’m almost hitting the one year mark for living together with my boy. Almost a year later and it’s still a lot of fun. Buttttt… it took some time to get used to as well and there’s a bunch that I’ve learnt these past couple of months:
– Your joint back account is pretty much always empty.
– It’s very important to plan in dates outside of your home too. Like go out for a cup of coffee or go for a stroll. It’s easy to unintentionally neglect each other, especially when you’re both very busy.
– Suddenly there’s always chips in your home.
– You don’t have to split chores. Things will fall into place on their own and if something bothers you, say it RIGHT away. Or write it down on a note. Sometimes that’s a lot easier.
– A huge, comfortable couch is a must.
– You don’t always have to do everything together.
– Hiring a maid is a good idea.
– I still try my best not to burp when I’m around him.
– It’s important to schedule in some time apart. Like going abroad with your friends for a few days or visiting your family for example. Time without each other is important too.
– It’s essential to sometimes shut a door behind you and be alone. So make sure you’ve got a door in your home you’re able to shut so you’re not constantly in the same room together.
– Who does the laundry? Ha, probably you yes.
– My boy happens to be an excellent handyman.
– I happen to be the only one who really makes a mess at home. And it’s very confronting. So I’m learning to be a neater person.
– Last but never the least: moving in together was the best decision ever.
