Last Monday I attended an event where one (Dutch) woman would receive the title of Business Woman of the Year. An event you want to attend for multiple reasons. First of all, it’s a celebration of all class act business women, it’s sponsored by Veuve Clicquot (who served bottles from 2006 for the occasion) and last but certainly not least, her majesty Queen Maxima would be attending.

As often is with people you only know from a far distance, you feel as though in real life the two of you were made to be best friends. That’s how I feel about this woman and with men like Robbie Williams and George Clooney. And Maxima. Obviously Maxima. And last Monday would be my first time meeting her. So evidently the fist question that popped up in my mind was: “What do you wear when you are going to meet the Queen?”

I quickly headed to one of my favorite stores in Amsterdam (PAUW) for a royal yet fashionable look. I pulled this sleeveless jacket out of the racks from their own brand. Added my Marni bag, paired it with some leather pants, Gucci shoes and the Cartier tank. Et voilà. Royalty approved.
