MAY-BRITT’S HOLIDAY
On the trail,in the mountains
“It’s a four wheel drive with winter tires and I added some snow chains for you too,” is what Renault’s head of press and media told me. I smiled, it seemed rather unnecessary. It was about 8 degrees in the German Sauerland, call it spring if you will. So all would be alright with our Renault Kadjar and four winter prepped tires (compulsory according to our insurance).
Until I received a phone call from my father with a weather update. Apparently the temperatures would be dropping and it would feel like -15 outside… Like some kind of crazy woman I hurried to some stores to stock up on some thermal underwear. For way too much money of course. I was in a rush which meant I was overly sensitive to sales techniques and walked out (my hubby needs to stop reading this NOW) with 325 euros worth of socks, scarves, gloves and shirts.
I walked out (my hubby needs to stop reading this NOW) with 325 euros worth of socks, scarves, gloves and shirts…
I popped the hood of the trunk, buried our coats into the ingenious trunk system, we plugged our phones into the chargers, listened to music through the super duper Bose sound system and jetted off towards Sauerland.
We checked into our hotel, got comfortable around the dinner table and then two of our three girls came with the very important announcement. “We want to go home…”
This is usually the sign of a great vacation.
