May-Britt’s 7 new #goals

Because September is the new January

September is always referred to as the January of fashion, but it’s definitely also the January in my mind. I find ‘new years resolutions’ to be very seasoned, but #goals for September is very 2016. I’m sure you know the feeling, that you’re hanging out on your floaty in a pool thinking about things you’re going to do as soon as you’re back in the real world.

These are mine. Who knows, perhaps they’ll be of use to you.

1. #workout

I recently read an interview in which the woman who was being interviewed wrote that if there was a pill that would make you never have to work out again, she would absolutely take it. Although I like to work out, it clearly doesn’t have a priority in my life because I don’t go all too often. And I don’t want weak arms. Or a belly. But even more so, I want time during which I can clear my head. So, just make sure to plan in workouts. Twice during week in the morning and once in the weekend on Saturday morning. I’ll work an extra hour in the evening if I have to.

2. #cook

I love food, but cooking hasn’t really become a part of my system. Brie de Meau, vitello tonato, gazpacho… Those I don’t mind doing. But hardcore cooking? That’s where my other half steps in. I want this to change, because I truly do enjoy working in the kitchen.

3. #gotobedearly

Or on time at least.

4. #wakeupearly

This is something I’m already good at (kids), but before I left for the holiday’s I had changed my schedule to (don’t freak out), waking up at 6:15 AM. Luckily I don’t have to prep lunches and braid my kids hair because either my mother or Stella (our super nanny) are there to help so I could easily stay in bed until 8, but as soon as the school season starts again, my alarm will go off nice and early. They say that people who want to concur the world wake up really early (think Anna Wintour, Richard Branson and Michelle Obama). Whether or not I’ll be able to pull this off, who knows, but at least I will have had the time to brush my hair.

5. #home

As in: frame photos, rearrange my furniture, go to thrift stores in Paris to look for furniture no one else has.

6. #drinkingcabinet

#home brings me straight to this point because I’ve written about it before and I’m completely obsessed with drinking cabinets. With a bowl for ice cubes, slices of lemon and lime, tonic water and different types of whiskey. And pretty glasses. I want those too.

7. #drinkless

You might not believe it, but I’m in the process of doing this. In the midst of summer. I’m limiting myself. Glass of wine before dinner, cup of coffee after and then perhaps another glass of wine to finish it off. Are you #proud of me?
