MILAN TRENDS part1
Last sunny Saturday morning May-Britt and I found ourselves packed and ready to go at the Airport, ready for two days of Milan Fashion Week. Also referred to as MFW, which is good to know if you want to check out everything Milan fashion week related on Instagram. With our bags packed with outfits for the afternoon, for the evening and for the following day, we boarded our very glamourous easyJet airplane. There were three very remarkable and notable trends we spotted that I want to share with you.
Today we’ve got the very first one for you: Capes.
Whereas the women in fashion having been draping their jackets over their shoulders for a while now, it’s finally become a hit on the runway. And I get it; it’s refined, feminine and that extra layer makes every look a little more exciting. I spotted them in three different variations. At Marni it was short at the front and long at the back with bare arms. But I also spotted tighter versions which left you no other option than hanging your arms straight down, with beautiful gold buttons and satin pelerine.
And the velvet sealed cape jacket from Prada, covered with uniform-like braids and small fur collars that looked like they appeared from the Golden Age. Practical? Not so much. Beautiful? Definitely.
