My life in a bag

Esther Vedder

We’re happy to introduce you to Esther Vedder and her amazing collection of bags. She has a total of 15 bags, but she’s slightly cheating. You might be thinking, hey I’ve already seen Esther in My Life in a Bag, but that would be her twin sister Anne Vedder. Which means, double the amount of bags and clothes.

How many bags do you own?

‘Because I ‘borrow’ (my twin would call it ‘stealing’), I have double the amount of clothes and bags. So I think I have about 15 total.’

What’s the story behind this one?

‘Since I have my own company, I like to set goals for myself. Once I’ve reached them, I’ll treat myself to a new bag. My sister Anne and I always head to a store in Amsterdam called Paul Warmer and we try to make the day as fun as we can by treating ourselves to something beautiful and new.’

How well do you take care of your bags?

‘I should probably be more careful with my bags. I usually am the first few days, but then I get rather careless. I think it’s important to have fun with them and not to always be focused on keeping it clean. I do get it refurbished every so often, just to make sure they don’t fall apart.’

What about its content?

‘Nowadays I always carry around sunscreen from Kiehl’s. Besides that, I’ve always got nail polish in my bag because I hate it when you walk around with chipped nails. I also always try to bring a necklace from my jewelry line Vedder&Vedder, just incase I end up somewhere where it might be useful.’

What do you always carry around with you?

‘I always carry around earphones. I love traveling through Amsterdam with music on.’

What do you think are the best qualities of a bag?

‘I always look for a bag that works well during the day as well as in the evening so I don’t have to switch it up. This one is perfect: everything I need fits inside of it and it’s not too big. And in the summer, I prefer lighter colors whereas in the winter, I’ll opt for a darker shade.’

‘The Chloé Faye.’
