My life in a bag

She’s appeared on the site before in our Look of the Day’s and I’ve already fallen in love with her Valentino bag. Today Isabelle is introducing us to her very first designer baby. Want to know how well she takes care of her bags? And if she’s thinking about expanding the family and with who? She’s here to tell us all about her wish list, her favorite characteristics of bags and what she aways carries around with her.

How many bags do you own?

‘Hmm, that’s a tough one. I mostly have a lot of small bags that I take with me on nights out. I’ve been collecting them since I was little. I should probably consider throwing them out, but I still struggle with separation anxiety. That last few years I’ve been trying to invest in better quality bags that’ll last me a life time.’

What’s the story behind this bag?

‘This is my first designer baby. When I was fifteen I worked in a clothing store and with the money I made there, I saved up for this bag. When I was in Knokke in Belgium for a holiday, I bought this pearl with a friend in the Louis Vuitton store. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the Speedy Bag or the Never Full Bag. To this day I’m still glad I went for this one. My first baby was born and it was clear I was up for more breeding.’

How well do you take care of them?

‘I’m not all too careful. I take my bags everywhere and they definitely have some traces on them to prove it. But hey, it gives them more character, right?’

What about its content?

‘The bigger the bag, the less the content. Each bag pretty much has it’s own regulars, but my bigger bags tend to be filled with a lot of crap like receipts, paper, bandaids, candy pens and hair ties.’

What do you always carry around with you?

‘My keys, phone, earphones and wallet. I also always try to bring a scent along with me (APOM Maison Francis Kurkdjian) and lip balm. My lucky chip from a casino is also a bag regular. I got it from a friend and since I’m very superstitious, I can’t live without it.’

What do you think are the best qualities of a bag?

‘A bag needs to be practical; I need to be able to carry it cross body or over my shoulder. Pockets are also a must because I want to be able to find things quickly.’

Which bags are still on your wish list?

‘I currently have a bag crush on the Céline Trio Bag, the Céline The Box, Saint Laurent’s Monogram Leather Shoulder Bag, the Prada Small Galleria Bag and the Chloé Drew Bag. It’s always nice to dream.’
