My life in a bag

It’s Tuesday, which means we’ve got a pretty bag we want to share with you. And this isn’t just any old bag… Today we would like to introduce you to the Queen of Jetlags, Noor de Groot’s, new Gucci baby.

How many bags do you have?

‘I think I have, give or take, around 40 of which I use about 10 frequently and the others I use sporadically. I hate having to dump the content of my bag into another, so that’s why when I decide to use one bag, I’ll use it for a few months before I switch to another one.’

What’s the story behind this one?

‘I, like many others, have caught the Gucci fever. Last Fashion Week I saw so many people with the Dionysus bag, especially one’s covered in logo’s. I had to get my hands on one. When I was surfing online I came across this one on MyTheresa and I found the color to be so striking and it matches practically everything. I wanted a bag that would be timeless, that’s why I decided to go for one without all the logo’s.’

How do you take care of your bags?

‘I have to admit I can be a real pig when it comes to taking care of things and my bags always end up looking awful – even my beloved Chanel bag. Since I’m getting older, I realized it was time for me to start acting like an adult, so as soon as this bag arrived, I decided I would keep it well groomed. Thus far it has worked: the inside is still neat and clean and the outside still looks brand new.’

What about its content?

‘Well the inside of this bag is still very neat! I always carry around a mirror, concealer and lipstick. Other things I always have with is a card holder for my debit and credit cards, my phone of course and usually a charger. And candy. A lot of candy.’

What do you think are the best qualities in a bag?

‘I think it’s really important that a bag gives you that icing on the cake feel for your outfit. This Gucci bag really does transform any boring outfit into a cool one and even when I’m decked out in something simple, as soon as I add it I feel really dressed up. Plus, technically speaking a bag needs to be functional and you should be able to put a bunch of important things into it, but let’s be honest: who cares? As long as my phone fits, I’m a happy camper.’

What can we still find on your wish list?

‘The Chloe Faye bag was on there for a long time but guess who finally got her hands on that one! I currently haven’t been eyeing anything else. Plus, I think it’s a wise idea to play around with the bags I have now.’
