MY RESOLUTIONS

FOR 2016?

New Years resolutions. Honestly, I usually couldn’t give a rats ass about them. I have more of a ‘if you want something, go get it’ mentality. So you want abs of steel? Go plan to head to the gym ’tomorrow,’ do it today. Do it, do it, do it. Get those words glued inside your head. But then again, I don’t want to be fooling anyone. Cause if there is anyone who suddenly decided to turn vegan on a Monday but finds herself eating a burger on Wednesday, well, then it’s me.  Another reason to ignore those new year resolutions. The only certainty that I have, is that I never stick to them anyway. It’ll only lead to an internal battle and disappointment.

Alright, so instead of going from a positivity guru to Debby Downer, I understand the need for resolutions. After spending an entire month snacking on candy, turkey’s, cake and whatever else was thrown your way, it’s always nice to hit the reset button. Hence the reason I’ve decided to do a bit of research to find the coolest places in New York to work on those happy and healthy ‘resolutions.’ So here you go. A plus side, you might find yourself working out alongside a celeb.

According to the average stay at home mom, boxing has become the new tennis. Everyone boxes nowadays. And have been for years. You’d think that it would be hard to keep this sport innovative, but Gotham Gym knows just how to do it! The new it-gym, where you’re bound to come across celebrities which might only motivate you even more to work out. I mean, Gigi Hadid works out there. And we all wouldn’t mind looking like she does…

Cityrow’s doors have only just barely opened in the Upper East Side but thus far, it’s definitely brought something new to the table. This gym is entirely dedicated to rowing machines. But then chic and hip ones. Personally I’m not a hugh fan of rowing, but apparently I am a part of the minority and you’re barely able to keep up with the amount of rowing clubs that have bloomed.

This name probably isn’t new to you at all. Ballet Beautiful is a hit amongst Victoria’s Secret Models. The provide combinations of ballet, cardio and pilates so you are guaranteed to leave with a slim figure. It’s possible to book private sessions, but if you’re more of a home body, you can book online sessions for at home too to obtain a Miranda or Doutzen body. I would do it just for the adorable cute pink ballet suits. So nostalgic.

Bored of running on a treadmill? Not my favorite either. But if you add disco lights, the Justin Bieber club mix and you do it in a room filled with people who are all undergoing the same pain as you are? Then yes! All of this is possible at the Mill High Run Club. Maybe I’ll give it a go next year…
