PIMP YOUR BATHROOM
In 7 easy steps
There are plenty of reasons your home should have a cozy bathroom. I mean, you spend quite the amount of time each day in there and it’s one of the rooms, besides your living room, that your guests are bound to make use of. Better yet, some people only drop by to use your restroom. Well then don’t you want it looking a good as it can without lousy toilet paper scattered all over the place and an ugly bottle of some cheap lavatory scent?
Alright I’m here to help you, pimp your bathroom and you’ll thank me numerous times a day.
1.
A pretty soap bottle
If you buy soap at any random super market, the bottles aren’t pretty per se. Pour out all the soap into a pretty soap dispenser and you’ll sink will suddenly have that extra bit of hotel allure.
2.
A flower
Perhaps the ultimate form of decadence, but it’s just so easy to do. Grab two or three flowers out of a bouquet, put them in a cute small vase and voilà.
3.
A scented candle
Obviously you’re going to want a scented candle. It’s extra cozy when you’ve got guests over for dinner (just make sure it’s safe), but it’s also very enjoyable when you’ve got those few moments for yourself. Candle on, magazine in hand…
4.
Hotel towels
Big towels that everyone uses to dry off their hands have the tendency to gross me out. How long has it been hanging there? Who used it and how well did they clean their hands are the kinds of life or death type of questions that cross my mind. Stores like Target or Marks & Spencers always have those small towels you can buy. Just roll them up and leave them in the bathroom. Don’t forget to put a small crate in the bathroom where people can dump the used ones.
5.
Things to freshen up
And while you’re at it, here’s something else to finish up your freshening up. A perfume for your guests (or for yourself) to use. Or a bit of lotion for your hands and perhaps even a small box of mints.
6.
Or this
One of my daughters has a teacher who is very skilled when it comes to arts and crafts and has all the kids in her class saving up empty toilet paper rolls. So what I’ve done at home, to avoid the rolls being thrown onto the floor and causing a mess, is that I’ve placed a cute paper bag from Dior on the floor to collect all the rolls.
7.
Frames
Check out your wall. Cover them with cute frames filled with photos of people you love or pretty cards or maybe even a mood board with pictures you’ve found on Pinterest.
I know I know, I’ve had a lot of free time on my hands the past few days, but let’s be real: it’s the small things in life that can put a big smile on your face.
