WHAT MEN FIND ATTRACTIVE about WOMEN ACCORDING TO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Last week I was scrolling through an article in Esquire about the physical characteristics men find the most attractive in women. Apparently there’s some guy called Dr. Midge Wilson from DePaul University who decided to do a little research to see what men fall for, and concluded that, conscious or not, men are attracted to health and fertility.

Biologically speaking, it makes complete sense to me. Logical even and not entirely something new. If you put it in black and white, we’ve all been planted on this Earth to spread our DNA so that we’re programmed to fall for the above mentioned points isn’t entirely surprising. Now I bet you want to know what some of the other characteristics were. Here you go:

1. Great hips. Female hips are generally broader than those of men since we’re the ones that have to go through child labor. So, the broader, the more fertile. Kimmie K, eat your heart out.

2. A cheerful smile works like a charm. Do it more often.

3. Healthy hair is apparently a sign that the person herself is healthy too. And preferably a head full of long and a lot of hair. So I guess it’s time we start contemplating those extensions after all.

4. There’s a sentence in Esquire that I’m having a hard time adjusting to: “a high pitched voice portrays youth and men will associate that with a small, feminine body. And that just so happens to be what we all find attractive.” A high pitched voice. Because it’s ‘youthful.’ Ugh, men are the worst.

5. Wear little to no make up. But we already knew that didn’t we, although it can’t be said enough.

Another thing I’d like to throw out there is who gives a F about what men do and don’t find attractive. As long as you find yourself attractive. Thank you.
