sweet things you can do for your mom
Sunday is Mother’s Day and if you happen to think you’ve got the sweetest mother on the planet and you also happen to have time to treat her to breakfast in bed, why wouldn’t you? We’re never too old to do that, right? Alright, okay, maybe lunch instead. Or brunch. Here are a couple more tips how you can surprise your mother, or someone else who is just as sweet.
- Write them a card. Doesn’t require a lot of time, won’t cost you a whole lot and has a gigantic effect. It doesn’t have to be a three paged letter, a few words explaining why you’re so fond of them is enough. Or a fun anecdote from the past. Be creative, let it come from the heart.
- Or write down a heartwarming quote on a sheet of paper and get it framed.
- I think experiences are better than a big present. Take her somewhere. Even if it’s just a walk through the park or a trip to the beach. As long as it’s something the two of you can do together.
- Giver her a great cookbook and cook a recipe from the book together that same night.
- You could also treat her to an experience for her and her partner. Who knows, maybe the two of them can use the quality time together too.
- Ask her if there is anything you can help her out with. Clean the kitchen, her closet, throw out empty bottles. Simple chores that will still put a smile on her face.
- Book a cooking workshop. Cooking, making bonbons, sewing, painting, yoga: everything is possible.
- This is something a lot of people do on Mother’s day, and rightfully so: a spa day.
- Give her a massive hug.
