TAKE IT EASY

Rest and relaxation will give you radiant skin

Dull skin, wrinkles that are more visible and blemishes on places you’d rather not have them? Well, last weekend these were things I was able to wipe off my own face. The solution is simpler than you would have thought. Together with the beauty brand Philosophy I spent a few days in the outback of the Netherlands (think: countryside, healthy food, good company and beds that you never ever want to get out of) to relax. That was our instruction; relax. ‘Take a deep breath and enjoy’. And guess what? Relaxing is good for you, but also for your skin.

Beauty sleep

It’s easy to imagine that a lack of sleep can result in bad skin. Bags that form under your eyes and dry skin. You don’t want it. Sleep gives your skin time to recuperate. Eight hours on average, so try to keep on eye on it.

Sporty Spice

Stress causes bad skin. And so working out is the perfect solutions. I know what you’re thinking, you don’t have time to work out, but working out relaxes you and it’ll show through your skin because of better blood circulation.

Relaxing

We walked through the forest and went on a biking tour and it was great. We were at a remote location without any wifi, so we had to find other things to partake in to keep ourselves entertained. And it went really well. You enjoy your surroundings more and actually take the time to relax. You breathe in the fresh forrest air which is evidently great for your skin. It’ll bring back the color that you don’t get when you spend an entire day staring at your laptop.

Eat yourself pretty

When you’re stressed out or just plain busy, you have the tendency to forget to eat. Or when you do eat, you’ll go for the Snickers bar or bag of chips. And coffee too, your ‘friend’ when busy. All which aren’t great. Caffeine get’s rid of all the moisture in your body when in fact you need that moisture to energize your skin. So make sure you drink plenty of water and eat fruit and vegetables that are filled with vitamins.

Smear

Rest helps your skin restore to its best condition. So I guess it’s an idea to go on holiday for an entire year because that’s when you always have the best skin. Smearing creams on works too. Especially when you’re off on a holiday. It helps protect you from the nasty UV from the sun and other harmful effects.

Face gymnastics

Massages always relax you and make your body feel more at ease. So why not do it for your face? It distresses, stimulates your blood circulation and relaxes your skin.
