TEA DATE WITH BVLGARI
I’m a huge tea addict. Give me a cup of coffee and I just won’t be content. Tea on the other hand, keep it coming. Bvlgari has five scents entirely inspired by the types of tea you get hooked on. What I mean is both the tea and the scent. But funny thing is: tea doesn’t have a scent. But a cup of tea for relaxation and freshness is exactly the feeling Bvlgari has captured in their bottles. They currently have a green, white, blue red and black variety, all of which smell divine. So I’d say it’s the perfect time for a high tea.
Green tea
Let’s start this off with my favorite tea: green tea. I always feel like this is the healthiest of all the tea, one which keeps you energized. Not an entirely crazy thought because green is viridian which in Latin means energy. If you break it down into facts, Japanese tea is official only green tea. So how do you translate that feeling into a scent? It has everything to do with the lightness of the eau de cologne and you immediately get a whiff of citrus fruits. A hint of paper, cardamon and green tea and you’ll know it’s worthy of its name. Some cider wood, beeswax and white musk and ultimately, you’ll believe that green tea really does have an exquisite scent.
White tea
Scientist consider white tea to be an elixir of immortality. Everywhere in the world the color white portrays purity, lightness, rest and wisdom. The white tea that was used for Bvlagari’s Eau Parfumée is very rare and requires a trip to the Himalaya mountains where according to legends, it’s only harvested during a full moon. This makes the story even more magical. The scent is warm, but not too heavy, a touch of wood and amber and musk. I’m telling you: spray this all day long and you’ll be a step closer to immortality.
Red tea
When I was traveling through South Africa, I drank liters and liters of rooibos tea. And I loved it. Rooibos is a very popular ingredient and according to African medicine; it’s got hydrating, anti radical and relaxing components. That’s the feeling perfumer Olivier Polge wanted to capture in a bottle. Pink peppers make the scent a clear one, together with oranges and bergamot. Other things you will capture are walnuts and musk. Alright, if this bottle signifies a healthy life, you know what you’ve got to do.
Black tea
Black tea sounds really exciting and to be fair, there is something magical about it. It has a rich history of tea traditions with complex facets. The scent alone is exciting. This type of tea is often used during imperial tributes. It has a strong character and a powerful balance, energizes you, but also has magical powers. So how do you wrap that Harry Potter feeling in a bottle? Well, perfumer Jacques Cavallier sure did a good job with different wood and flower scents.
Blue tea
Seriously, blue tea? Obviously it doesn’t exists. Although in China they once named a type of tea blue tea. They say it oozes serenity and tranquility. It’s what you expect a violet to smell like. A warm smell with iris and musk. The scent makes you feel relaxed without being boring. Everything but boring in fact. And it definitely eases your mood. Had a stressful day? Then you know which scent to grab.
