Fun & Famous
THE FUNNIEST VLOG PARODY ACCOUNT
Yesterday I introduced you to my newest hobby: Casey Neistat’s vlogs. It’s safe to say that his hobby has turned into an uncanny obsession. I think I’ve turned into a downright fan. Last Sunday he vlogged at the Oscars (how cool is that?) and when he announced it on his channel, he was so overwhelmed and excited that my eyes nearly started to flood with tears when I was watching it behind my laptop, it was so moving.
Okay wait, this might be a little lame on my end. Forget what I just said! I’m not going to bore you with yet another ode to Casey. Yesterday I wrote about how I find a lot of vloggers utterly obnoxious and only watch it out of pure malicious pleasure. Might sound harsh but hey, life is a bitch. For everyone else who is sick and tired of all the cliché psycho babble on YouTube, head on over to Adrian Bliss and his satirical YouTube channel.
Who he is or what he does besides being a YouTuber is unclear to me. A few years back he uploaded a couple of videos set in the future that were very on point. Talking mirrors, companies that rent dogs to obtain a whole lot of likes and followers, certain areas of cities you aren’t allowed to visit if you don’t have enough followers, and those kinds of jokes. The filming isn’t top quality per se, but he uses great special effect. Check an episode of the future series below.
And last November he started his ‘Vlogvember’ which was another brilliant joke of his. In Vlogvember he indicated exactly what the dumbest things are that most vloggers do. All the cliché’s are covered; from sponsor deals to meet-ups to continuously repeating that you have a “big announcement” to all the stupid ’thumbs up!’ requests they ask for. He even came up with a beauty of a closer: “Keep on believing, make all the things and have fun during the day.”
The funny thing is that he has even mocked my beloved Casey Neistat. There are so many remarks directed towards Casey’s vlogs, which makes it all even funnier. And don’t think Casey doesn’t appreciate it, Casey is the one who made me like Adrian Bliss, and he too find it all hilarious.
Adrian’s video’s look like they’ve been made by a talentless kindergartner, but that’s the great thing about satire; using humor to indicate other people’s stupidity. And not only that; once you’ve watched all 30 of his vid’s, you’ll realize that a lot of thought went into the process of making them, there is a story line, an underlying message – those kinds of things. So I know you’re probably still binge watching Casey, but schedule in some time for Adrian too. Check out the best of his Vlogvember vid’s below. Happy watching!
