How a thin layer suddenly turned into a dozen

When you tell someone you work as a beauty editor, you often hear the occasional chuckle. For some reason people always assume that beauty editors go through life with bold colored lips, smokey eyes and three layers of colored mascara. Well I can tell you, none of it is true. All the beauty editors that I know (besides the occasional exception) go through life with the natural look. They might have a thin layer of foundation on their skin and perhaps a tiny bit of color on their lips, but other than that, they praise the nude face five minute ritual look in the morning.

Yet for some reason there are numerous beauty bloggers who have been spending more than just five minutes in their bathrooms in the morning. And when I say more than just a five minutes. I mean hours. Entire days.  Our girl Kiki already wrote a short something about it last week. If you’re able to spend an entire day devoted to smearing on a hundred layers of makeup, then you sure have plenty of free time on your hands.
