The 5 spring trends you need to know about
Barely two weeks into spring and I’ve already spotted a few bare legs at the office. Most of the awful rain downpours are over so we can almost say goodbye to having a head full of messy hair as a part of our daily outfits. Plus, since our wardrobes are filled with the newest outfits for the season, now is the perfect time to introduce you to the beauty trends that are going to help you top off all those. These four are the trending topics that you’re going to want to follow this spring.
Doll face
Your eyes need to be big and vivacious. Whereas last year we opted for smokey eyes and catchy eyeliners, the emphasis this year is all on your lashes. Big and vivacious, just like the girls at Louis Vuitton, Marni and Thomas Tait.
Out-of-the-pool-hair
The wet look is a keeper. It’s been around for a while, but always played safe; a little bit of gel at the top, the bottom carefully curled. Well, this subtle wet look as transformed into an overall wet look. We spotted it at Kenzo, Missoni and Dsquared. The models’ heads were covered in gels and products that made it look entirely like they just hopped out of a pool. Neat though, not messy – that’s the rule.
Plump lips
Either your lips are going to be dark, or they’re going to be as natural as possible. Dolce & Gabbana, Max Mara and Fendi showed us that the romantic lip is allowed, as long as it’s matte color. If you want to add a tiny bit of glitter, you may, as long as the rest of the lip is as close to your natural color as can be.
Bushy brows
You’ve most likely been trying your hardest to grow out your brows and now that they’ve grown, you’re completely set. They can look as raw and undone as you’d like (this’ll save you a couple of minutes in the morning) and the hairs that you’d normally pluck – leave them. The models at the Christopher Kane show all had a little more bush above the eyes. Minor detail; I’m only referring to your brows here. It doesn’t mean you should let the rest of your body hair shouldn’t be well groomed.
Tropical eyes
Can’t decide which color you like most for an eye shadow, then the multi coloring trend is going to excite you. Makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds from MAC Cosmetics sent models down the runway all with different color palettes. Yellow, green and blue were all mixed and matched. Doesn’t mean you have to leave your front door looking like a bird of paradise. Keep it neat, but mixed. And there you have it.
