THIS LOVED UP COUPLE HAS BEEN MARRIED FOR 17 YEARS SO…
The 9 things you probably didn’t know about David and Victoria
Can you imagine life without Victoria and David Beckham? That would be like eating fries without ketchup (or mayo, depending on where you live), Dolce without Gabbana and Louboutins without sore feet. The two belong together. Okay, a little misstep left and right (remember Rebecca Loos?) but besides that they are the ultimate love duo. And I could know because I’ve seen them in real life and it’s love, people. Love. To celebrate their anniversary which took place on Monday, I’ve looked up some of the trivia about the two that you really don’t want to miss. Here are nine facts I bumped into.
1. How it all started
Victoria’s agent, Simon Fuller, was a huge fan of Manchester United and brought Victoria to one of the games. That’s where she met David at one of their bars. “The best part about David is that he was just hanging out with his parents and sister after the game and wasn’t hanging out at the bar with all the rest of the team.”
2. The proposal
David politely asked Victoria’s father for her hand in marriage, and later on went down on one knee somewhere in the Northern part of England.
3. The best present (when was the last time you got a vineyard?)
Victoria and David love wine (bonus points) and a well stocked wine shelf is kinda dull, right? So David bought Vic a vineyard in Napa. Only open for friends and family. Brilliant.
4. Golden Balls
Victoria calls David ‘Golden Balls’. She says it refers to his career. We all know better.
5. David has something weird
He has an obsessive, compulsive disorder. He has three fridges. One for food, one for salads (perhaps someone can tell David that ‘salads’ are also a part of food) and one for drinks.
6. Why Spicy Girls was a no-go
The Spice Girls were almost called The Spicy Girls. But there was already a porn site with that name… Unfortunately.
7. A pregnant Spice Girl is no fun
Victoria was pregnant with Brooklyn while on tour with the Spice Girls. Getting fatter while wearing a catsuit was not a hoot. Every night she would say: I’m not going to do it anymore. Then her agent would show her her contract and she would say: the catsuit is on, so she would keep going.
8. Another dandy gift
When David and Victoria were celebrating their 13 year anniversary, David wrote a love story for Victoria. Oh, and he booked them a love nest for a measly 27 million to spend some time with each other.
9. If you happen to like it…
David’s favorite dish comes from the East side of London. Pie and mash with side of jelly eels to be exact. I’m not entirely sure what it is, but it sounds downright awful. It probably is too because there is absolutely no one outside of East London that’ll ever eat it. But David doesn’t care whether he’s in Paris or Madrid, he just has it shipped in. I would assume he needs a lot of wine out of his own vineyard to get rid of the taste, but who am I…
