sold out: the power of kate middleton
It’s an unwritten rule: if Kate Middleton wears something from your collection, your sales are going to skyrocket through the roof. Here are four situations in which the Queen of style had women running to the nearest store.
1. The polka-dotted Topshop dress
It’s as if the 34 year old Kate can spot a best buy from a mile away. And she doesn’t shy away from flaunting it. Take the Topshop dress she wore during her pregnancy as an example. This 80 euro polka-dotted item had their website crashing in no time.
2. The Eponine suit
This is why I love Kate Middleton. Even though she can afford purchasing all the high end designer labels in the world, she decides to strut down the Royal Halls in a suit from a relatively unknown British label called Eponine instead. And now Eponine has Kate to thank for the sudden outpour of new clients.
”She decide to strut down the Royal Halls in a suit from a relatively unknown label instead.”
3. The blue ASOS dress
It made front-page news: ‘Kate looks stunning in a 23,5 Euro dress’. It’s quite surprising, because why the hell can’t royalty walk around in clothing from budget labels without the entire world suddenly linking it to a bankrupt British Empire? Anyway, long story short: completely sold out.
4. The Diane von Fürstenberg gown
Kate wore this colorful look when she was visiting Australia. As soon as pictures of her in the gown (354 Euro’s) surfaced on the net, women from all around the globe couldn’t get to their computers fast enough. The gown sold out in eight minutes. Eight. Moral of the story: if you wanna dress like the Duchess, there’s no time for dawdling.
