Fun & Famous
THINGS THAT ARE CONSIDERED NORMAL ONLINE BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE
You know what would be fun? If you think about what it would be like if you adapted your online behavior to real life. Just for a day or so, as an experiment.
Following People
Let’s kick this off with the most obvious one. You hear someone talking in a restaurant or a café or you see someone you find wildly attractive and you decide: “I want to know more about him or her, so I’m going to follow them.” You follow them as they walk through the city, when they go out for dinner or parties or go off on a holiday. There’s a likelihood that you might end up in prison though because let’s not forget, stalking is a serious crime.
Poking
The Facebook poking option is absurd but doing it offline would be even more idiotic. Imagine randomly poking anyone who passes you on the street after which you turn around and pretend like absolutely nothing happened.
Get into discussions with strangers
It always amazes me how heated discussions can get on various topics and articles online. People who don’t know each other go all out in their Facebook comments which can lead to very heated arguments. Imagine doing that in real life. You hear someone say so and so to a friend or relative of theirs and you decide to get involved in their conversation. Unasked and uncalled for. Craziness.
Liking everything
Someone’s got a new sweater on? Yell: ‘LIKE!’ You see a cute cat or a dog on the street? ‘LIKE!’
Tell everyone what you had for dinner
Enthusiastically tell any random stranger you see about the breakfast you had that morning, most likely some kind of soy yoghurt with chia seeds and fruit. LIKE!
