THINGS YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO BUT NEVER END UP DOING
‘Jet, I don’t really get what you plan on writing about today. What kind of photos am I meant to be looking for?’ one of our design interns asked me.
‘Well, you know, things you’re meant to do at home but you never end up doing anyway. Or buying something you plan to use, but it ends up somewhere in the back of the closet. Catch my drift?’
I asked everyone here at our Dutch office if they could name a few chores and tasks they plan on taking care of but end up never doing. Here’s what we’ve got, and I’m sure you can relate to.
– ‘Hanging up an extra shelf in a closet that really needs the space. Yet it somehow never makes its way in there.’
– ‘I once bought six rad buttons to add to an old vest of mine to give it a new look. Two years later, buttons are still in a bag and the vest is still somewhere in the back of my closet.’
– ‘Making a photo album. I have 93000 photos, but not one book!’
– ‘I always forget to call my grandparents.’
– ‘I would love to take a photography course or learn a new language, but I’m pretty sure it’ll never happen.’
– ‘Oh, I sometimes get books from friends that they recommend I should read, yet I always return them unread.’
– ‘I always forget to unsubscribe from news letters. Ever time I get another email, I end up deleting it rather than unsubscribing,’
– ‘Throw out or bring your old clothes to a thrift store.’
