TIPS to help you build up your savings account
That I should be using too
It’s the story of my life. Every month I try to set new goals and strict rules for myself to fill up my savings account, and every month I fail at it. I’ll spend my very last penny on overpriced smoothies or going out for dinner.
- Sign out of all webshop newsletters. It definitely hurt when I did it but this week I’m going through life unsubscribed from the J-Crew site. I had too. Every week an email would pop up with their newest collection in my inbox and the first thing I would do is pull out my credit card.
- Open up a savings account you’re not able to transfer money out of very easily. The amount of times I have transferred money to and out of my back account is insane… Too much.
- Don’t order takeaway food, it’s more expensive than cooking your own dinner.
- Don’t go to the grocery store when you’re extremely hungry. You’ll buy double the amount that you need.
- Check all your subscriptions. I’m sure you’ve got a couple that you never use. Get rid of them and save up your money.
- Work with coupons if you’re grocery store has any or buy things that have a discount.
- And the very last thing which I have just done: grab a mason jar, a stanley knife and glue. Cut open a small opening in the cap of the jar and glue it onto the jar. I also stuck a post-it with my end gold onto it. In my case it’s a dinner at a michelin star restaurant. Hopefully we’ll be able to go next year. Or never, since I just broke the mason jar already…
