VEGETABLES THAT CONTAIN A LOT OF EGG WHITES
Great for the athletes amongst us
You need egg whites to keep your body healthy. Especially when you’re someone who likes to workout a lot. Egg whites are good for when you’ve got sore muscles, and they’ll help your muscles build and recover much quicker. That’s exactly what you want since stronger muscles leads to burning more fat. I’m assuming that’s something you want. You could opt for egg white shakes and supplements after workouts, but I’m more of an advocate for getting your egg whites out of food. There are plenty of options. Especially in vegetables. So off you go, time to head into the kitchen.
Chickpeas
Make hummus out of it, put some in a salad or cook then in a curry. There are about 6 grams of egg whites in 100 grams of chickpeas.
Spinach
There are about 3 grams of egg whites in 100 grams of spinach, so that’s great news. Great for in a smoothie, an omelet (even more egg whites) or to just bake in a pan.
Broccoli
Just as many egg whites as in spinach. A real adventurer will add a bit of broccoli into their smoothie. I do it occasionally, although I do find the taste to be a bit overwhelming. I prefer making a soup out of it or having it steamed.
Lentils
Cooking these is really simple and so much better than when you buy them canned. Lentils are a great addition to a salad or you can heat them up with some fish or a bowl of soup. There are 7,5 grams of egg whites in 75 grams of lentils.
Brussel sprouts
If you eat these, you’ll be doing your body a big favor. They’re great straight out of the pan or sliced up very thin and added into a salad with mushrooms and Parmesan cheese. Make sure you don’t cook them for too long that they become flimsy, and don’t add them into a smoothie either.
