What i learned from MARILYN MONROE
I love me some Marilyn. She would have turned ninety this year and my god, what a shame we never had the chance to drink a glass of bubbly together. Or grab a bite to eat, watch a movie, borrow each others clothes (pretty sure THE white dress would still be a hit at parties) and joke about the entire ‘fit girls versus the fat girls’ debacle. We’d be besties, for sure.
We all knew she had charisma, but besides that, there are a couple of life lessons we can learn from miss Monroe…
Embrace your curves
Marilyn might have had a saggier boobs and a butt bigger than J.Lo and Kim K combined, but she embraced every inch of her curves – and that, ladies and gentlemen, is sexy.
And embrace your imperfection
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” Amen.
Wear red
Whether you’re a blond, brunette or a red head, red is always a good idea. Marilyn always knew: if you want to stand out in life, exude power and have men hanging on your every last word? Wear red lipstick. It never goes out of style.
Stop comparing things and people
“To all the girls that think you’re fat because you’re not a size zero, you’re the beautiful one, its society who’s ugly.” See, now that’s what we call a powerful quote.
Let’s face it: everyone gets older. Get over it.
“I want to grow old without facelifts… I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I’ve made.” These kinds of things only make me respect her even more.
