WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN YOU GO TO A SPA
Okay, it wasn’t my first time going to a spa but it was my first time going to a day at the spa without any clothes on. I wouldn’t say I’m a prude, but I wasn’t in the mood to watch a bunch of people walk around butt naked. Or stare at, because let’s be honest, that’s what everyone does. It needs some getting used to. I tagged along with a seasoned spa goer, and these are the things that happen when you go to a spa NAKED for the first time.
– When you go in the weekend (like I did), you end up in some sort of zoo. That’s what it felt like. Hundreds (I, kid you not) of naked people.
– When you head from one sauna to the next, it’s normal for you to wrap a towel around you. But there are plenty of people who make use of the opportunity to walk around nude.
– I don’t want to brag, but if you need a bit of a confidence boost, this is where you need to be. You spot plenty of huge butts, boobs and bellies.
– You come across plenty of couples, older couples too.
– Don’t think of it odd when you see couples touching each other in the pool. Yes, they’re naked. No, they’re not doing anything weird. At least I hope not…
– Don’t freak out about the older men either. And their butts (which started sagging).
– Always smile politely to everyone and make eye contact. Don’t look down. They won’t either.
– Spa’s always consist of great food. Really healthy salads and smoothies, but they also have sushi and fries. Even wine.
– You’re going to be sweating like a maniac. They have plunge pools for a reason.
-Make sure to plan a day for this (or at least six hours). Once you go, you’ll be set for hours of relaxation. But I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to all the naked people walking around.
– You’ll feel extremely zen and relaxed after a day at the spa.
– Schedule in a day with a friend. And try not to laugh. Promised?
