Why you’re always going to want to work from home

4 facts you should share with your boss

Let me start this off telling the entire Amayzine clan that they need to stop reading this immediately because personally, I’m not a huge fan of people working from home. I want the office to be bubbling and brewing. And when I call out that something needs to be done or changed or whatever, that it gets done without the hassle of having to call/mail/text someone to get ahold of them to do it.

But obviously we do tolerate the occasional work from home days. Especially in the digital world that we live in and how we’re able to bring our laptops everywhere. Some people write, the others take care of the designs. The two are able to work separate from one another and sometimes you just have those days that you want to stay home so you can be more productive. It’s one thing we all can agree on; we’re more productive at home. And it’s been proven. So incase you have a boss who is worse than I am and doesn’t tolerate you working from home, here are a couple of facts to throw his way.

  1. People who work from home are happier

People who work from home give their work and average of 8,1 whereas people who work from an office will give it a 7,4. Although they do miss the social aspect of having coworkers, it’s also nice not having them and going through your to-do list with sweat pants on.

2. More freedom

People who work from home have more freedom. Because sweatpants, unbrushed hair, working with no makeup on…

3. You are more productive

91% of the people who work from home have experienced that they get far more work done than when they’re at an office. On average they’ll also have 13,5 more phone calls because they won’t feel as though they’re being eaves dropped, says the inner nagging supervisor within me, because it’s annoying when you have to make a phone call with someone sitting beside you.

4. Hardly ever sick

Here’s another point that you boss will be happy to hear about. Absenteeism amongst people who work from home is a lot less than people who work at the office. Reason being: the threshold isn’t as high when you’re not feeling to well to go to work. Because sweatpants, unbrushed hair, working with no makeup on…

Guys, I’m going home!
