Oh mon dieu: The White Lotus s4 is going to France

Grab those baguettes and book a one-way Eurostar ticket, because our favorite murder mystery series The White Lotus is coming back. And this time in oui oui — France.
Where in France is The White Lotus season 4 being filmed?
Oh, already wondering where you can secretly wander around to catch a glimpse of the cast? Understandable. We’re just as curious about which grandiose filming location HBO will choose this time. Unfortunately, we don’t have an Architectural Digest article about the resort yet, but we can definitely speculate.
Due to a marketing partnership with Four Seasons, the options are limited to three hotels: Hotel George V in Paris, the Megève resort in the French Alps, and the crowd favorite: the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera. This hotel has been a Hollywood magnet for years thanks to its location near Cannes, a regular celeb hotspot.
Creator Mike White previously stated he wanted a change from the beaches — but nothing too chilly. Paris could be dramatic enough for season 4, but the French Riviera fits the luxurious White Lotus aesthetic perfectly. So, are we going with a resort again?
What do the hotels look like where The White Lotus might be filmed?
Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat
The favorite, and secretly our top pick as well, is this castle-like resort. The hotel has been an icon on the Côte d’Azur for over a century and would be the perfect location to film The White Lotus. From here, you can spot Nice and Monaco. The Les Terrasses du Cap gardens, hidden among lush plants, offer the ideal setting for a mystery — or even a murder scene.
Hotel George V, Paris
Bonjour Paris! Built in 1928, the George V hotel is still an institution in Paris. The hotel is just a baguette’s throw from the Champs-Élysées and features 244 rooms, three restaurants, and a spa. From the grand suites, you can look out at the sparkling Eiffel Tower at night. The perfect setting for drama and decadence in The White Lotus.
Megève resort, French Alps
On the slopes of Mont d’Arbois, in the heart of the French Alps, lies this modern chalet. Think: skiing, golfing, a spa, and breathtaking views. The landscape is perfect for mysterious accidents and slippery slopes — literally. Pure White Lotus vibes.
Recap: what happened in The White Lotus season 3?
Before we pack our bags for France, let’s take a look back at last season. The White Lotus season 3 took place in Thailand, at the Koh Samui resort.
The Ratliff family travels there so daughter Piper can interview a monk for her thesis. But that alone would be too boring. So: drama. There’s financial trouble, incest between the brothers, and father Timothy attempts suicide. Not exactly a typical family trip. Piper’s had enough and wants to move in with the monks after graduation — something her mother is totally against.
A new fan favorite character was Gaitok, the guard with a heart of gold who questions whether he belongs in such a violent world. He symbolizes the moral test in The White Lotus, where most people crumble under luxury and power.
And of course: someone died again. Spoiler alert: this time, a truly innocent victim. Fan favorite Chelsea was accidentally killed by her boyfriend Rick. He had lured her to Thailand to confront his father’s murderer. The plan went completely off the rails when Chelsea got caught in the middle…
We’re definitely curious about what wild scenes — and especially which amazing celebs — we’ll see in season 4 of The White Lotus. What are we doing in the meantime? Getting in the mood. With a weekend in Paris. Au revoir.
