Doing crazy things for a crush — we've all been there, right? Of course, some go a little crazier than others. Celebs included. Some of them once dipped their toes into the pool of nude photos. And for them, it's a bit more risque because, well, no matter how rich you are: money can't buy real privacy. Buckle up, this is juicy: these celebs had things go very wrong: Jennifer Lawrence In 2014, Apple’s iCloud server was massively hacked, with nearly 500 photos of celebrities stolen — including Jennifer’s. She spoke out strongly about this in Vanity Fair Magazine. “Just because I’m a public figure does not mean I asked for this. It’s my body, and it should be my choice who sees those photos. To anyone who looked at them, I have one thing to say: you are a sexual offender. You should be ashamed.” Emma Watson The British actress was the victim of a leak in 2017. The photos were taken during a fitting session with her stylist. Not nude, but still a major invasion of her privacy. Her legal team filed a lawsuit — successfully: the perpetrator ended up behind bars. Chris Evans Unlike others on this list, Captain America accidentally leaked his own nudes. In a video where he played ‘Heads Up’ with his family, which he shared with his (then) 5.7 million Instagram followers, a collage of photos appeared — including one of his erect penis. The video was quickly deleted, but the damage was done. It was radio silence until two days later, when he posted a message acknowledging all the “new attention”: “Now that I have your attention... VOTE Nov 3rd!!” He never truly confirmed the photo was his, but based on his reaction, we believe it was. His Marvel co-star, Mark Ruffalo, supported him in a tweet: “@ChrisEvans Bro, as long as Trump is president, there’s nothing you can do to embarrass yourself.” Amanda Seyfried Mamma Mia, thought Amanda when she found out her photos had been leaked. Like Emma Watson, she was a victim of the 2017 data breach. Her photos were shared on Reddit, 4chan, and Celeb Jihad. Scarlett Johansson Photos of this actress (yes, there's a theme here) were also leaked. In 2011, images were stolen directly from her phone. Fortunately, the perpetrator in this case also ended up in jail. Kate Hudson She’s posed nude on the cover of InStyle and on her own Instagram, but leaked photos are a different story. Like many other actresses, she was a victim of the 2017 photo leak. Brad Pitt It’s a 90s scandal: Playgirl published nude photos of Brad Pitt and then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow. He didn’t take it lightly and sued the magazine. In court, he stated the photos had been taken in 1995 by a photographer who had secretly entered the hotel they were staying in. Playgirl’s lawyer, Kent Raygor, claimed the photos were two years old and had already been published in Europe. How the magazine obtained the photos was allegedly unknown. The judge banned the sale of new issues, but existing copies could still be sold. Wow, rough. Jessica Alba In 2010, a lot more of pregnant Jessica Alba was seen than intended when her topless nude photos were leaked. Tyler Posey Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey’s privacy was digitally invaded in 2017 when his iCloud was hacked. His private videos were posted online, but he wasn’t too stressed about it. “I don’t care. You’re way less stressed when you just let it go,” he said in an interview with Us Weekly. Dylan Sprouse Years after his Suite Life of Zack and Cody days, nude photos of him suddenly surfaced online. These were allegedly posted by an angry ex-girlfriend. The actor confirmed the photos were his with a joke on Twitter: “Whoops, guess I’m not fat and 14 anymore. I made a mistake, but it’d be stupid not to own it.” Bella Thorne In the case of American actress Bella Thorne, things went even further: a hacker tried to blackmail her with topless photos. He sent her anonymous texts, offering the photos back in exchange for a load of cash. Instead of being scared, Bella flipped the script like something straight out of a movie: she posted her own nude photos. She took back the power and shut down the hacker instantly. She tweeted: “I feel gross, I feel watched. Someone took something from me that was special. I’ve let men take advantage of me for far too long and I’m sick of it. Posting this is my decision. Now you can’t take anything from me. You’ll never hold my life in your hands.” Iggy Azalea A photoshoot with GQ Australia went badly for the rapper when nude photos from that shoot were suddenly posted online in May 2019. She was so shocked, she deactivated her social media. In a statement, she said the leak felt like a ‘nuclear bomb’ that left her angry, sad, and ashamed. Demi Lovato Sorry not sorry, is probably what the hacker thought when they hacked Demi Lovato’s ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama’s Twitter account in 2013 and leaked nude photos of the couple. Even worse: it happened again a few years later, in 2017. She calmly responded on Twitter: “I love how everyone freaks out over one picture. It’s not even nude, it’s just cleavage.” So. Whether you’re a Hollywood A-lister or just one of us. One thing’s for sure: the internet never forgets. So watch out.By Laudonne Roos
